Where is the Time Going???

ree

How time flies! Life moves fast, and it's easy to get caught up in the rush. But as the days race by, we have to remind ourselves to pause, be present, and soak in the positive moments life has to offer.

Right now, I'm out of town traveling for work. It took a lot of preparation to get here — making sure my kiddos were set, ensuring my husband had everything he needed, and balancing my work obligations. After a whirlwind week of planning and preparation, I'm now in my hotel room — resting, reflecting, and finding gratitude for all that God has done in my life.

"Adulting" can be exhausting. The endless to-do lists, responsibilities, and constant mental load can feel overwhelming at times. But in the middle of all that, it's so important to pause and appreciate the journey.

I feel incredibly blessed — for my amazing husband, my 18-year-old son, and my 13-year-old daughter. I'm so proud of all they are accomplishing. I feel blessed for the work I get to do, helping others and following my passion. My life hasn’t been easy, and it’s taken a lot of work to get here. But I've learned that taking time for myself isn’t selfish — it’s necessary. We can't pour from an empty cup.

Today, my body is telling me to stay in bed and recover — and I'm listening! Learning to be self-aware is key to finding that balance. It’s about tuning in to what your mind and body need instead of pushing through nonstop.

Here are a few simple ways you can practice self-awareness and mindfulness in your own life:

Mindful Moments: Pause for 60 seconds to breathe deeply, reflect, or simply notice what’s happening around you.

Pause in Your Routine: Whether you’re driving, cooking, or working, take a brief moment to pause, ground yourself, and reset.

Disconnect: Try silencing your electronics for an hour (or more!) to give your mind space to breathe.

Gratitude Journaling: Taking just five minutes to write down what you’re grateful for can shift your mindset and boost your well-being.

Body Scans: Spend a few moments quietly checking in with how your body feels. Are your shoulders tense? Is your breathing shallow? These little signals can tell you what you need.

Taking intentional moments to pause can help you recharge and find clarity.

So, I ask you: How are you being self-aware? What are you grateful for today?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
